This beautiful Agapanthus inspired piece was commissioned as a wedding present, being a special flower to the family with significant meaning. Blue muranese glass is a rolled glass with a pressed flower effect. The textures glisten in all weathers bringing these Agapanthus flowers to life. It was a lovely commission to design and make and will look gorgeous for years to come.
The glass panels are created using the traditional method of leaded stained glass. From design through cutting, leading, soldering and cementing, each panel is unique and a handmade piece of art. These are then fixed within a bespoke, handmade 13mm steel frame created by my local blacksmith.
Each steel metal frame is zinc coated and finished in a stylish Anthracite Grey top coat. If you prefer a natural frame that will oxidise over time, there is also this option. A full range of frame colours is available and I am happy to discuss these with you.
The Glass Art is fully weatherproof adding year round colour and a unique focal point. The panels can be left outside all year round through snow, rain, wind and sun. I only use top quality materials meaning the sculptures are robust when fixed securely in the ground. The sculptures are designed to flex slightly in the wind. Each individual sculpture is H- 140cm x W – 18cm x D – 1cm. The outrigger comes out at a right angle for 16 cm. It is 20cm from the bottom of the steel frame with a supporting crossbar at the same height for ease of installation. The bottom 20cm is sunk into the ground making the sculpture stand at 120cm. Medium panels are also available, H – 90cm x W – 19cm x D – 1cm
SOLD but happy to make you one based on this design with the colours of your choice. Please contact me to discuss and order.
